Careers Update 5 February 2018   

IT Careers - BiG Day In @ UTS - 20 March 2018 
9am – 2.30pm
This is an IT careers conference for interested students in Year 10 -12.  Students will hear speakers from companies incl. Animal Logic, Microsoft, Adobe, Westpac, WiseTech Global, IBM, Technology One & more, talking about the future of technology & how students can get involved.  Industry exhibitors will also be on hand for students to learn about careers in ICT. A limited number of tickets are still available (Tickets $10). Interested students should contact Christine Watson-Brown, Careers Adviser, to register their interest to attend cwatson-brown@staff.masada.nsw.edu.au      

UMAT 2018 Registrations Open now 

Registrations for UMAT 2018 are open now and close on Friday 1 June. The test takes place nationally on Wed 25 July 2018. UMAT is a test that is used specifically to assist with the selection of students into the medicine, dentistry and health science degree programs at undergraduate level at the universities listed on the website.  For more information and to register visit – https://umat.acer.edu.au  

Taronga Zoo – Meet the Keeper
Meet a Keeper is a one-day program for students 14 years and over who have expressed an interest in a career at the Zoo. The day includes a seminar presented by a range of Zoo staff to learn aspects of working in a zoo environment, including qualifications, career opportunities, core responsibilities, careers structures and wages. Many great work experience opportunities require early application. Start early and contact the school Careers Adviser for assistance.  Applications for the following two opportunities are due during February.

Save the date! Engineers Australia – Discover Engineering Day 12 April 2018
Open to Year 10 and 11 students, the discover engineering day will include activities aimed at giving high school students a taste of the skills required for the engineering profession as well as guest speakers from university and engineers.  Students can register already for the April event to be held at Chatswood High.  There is a small cost for attending this event.  For more information visit: https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/Event/discover-engineering-day-chatswood-high-school
