Junior School Curriculum

Masada College Junior School supports and encourages children to explore, strive for and achieve academic excellence. All students have the opportunity to develop and widen their interests and skills through our Differentiated Curriculum, our Enrichment, Extension and Learning Support Programs. Our approach to teaching is a holistic one which entails an understanding of how each child learns and how best to cater to their needs in order for them to achieve their maximum potential. Our curriculum programming ensures we do this effectively.

Our Enrichment & Extension Program fosters each child’s strengths and helps him or her become a critical and creative thinker. Extension programs for our high ability learners involve internal and external opportunities that extend learning beyond conventional boundaries. Learning Support programs modify content and delivery to cater for students with learning difficulties.

The Masada College Junior School curriculum is organised into eight Key Learning Areas (KLAs). The KLAs are; English, Mathematics, Hebrew, Jewish Studies, Science and Technology, Human Society and Its Environment, Creative and Practical Arts, and Physical Education, Health and Personal Development. The curriculum allows children to explore in both practical and abstract ways. Delivery and content of the curriculum are specifically designed to meet the individual needs of the students.
