Another HSC Success Story

MASADA DOES IT AGAIN!
13th in NSW

Non-selective results:

1st on the North Shore
3rd overall in NSW
1st in Mathematics
5th in English

• Over 60% of students with UAIs over 90.00
• 5 students with UAIs over 99.00
• Seven students are Distinguished Achievers
All from a class of 60 students!

How does Masada achieve these results year after year?

“Although Year 12 is a year when people pull out all stops in getting outside help, I found the support from the Masada staff went above and beyond my expectations.  If I ever needed to clarify anything, all of my teachers were willing to give up their free periods to help me.  Even staff members who were not my teachers were willing to offer advice! It is such a nurturing place to go to school.”  Sarah Schwartz, Class of 2008 and College Dux.

The Masada journey begins in Preschool with a focus on a Culture of Thinking instilled in our students from day one, which is carried through to Junior and Senior School. There are opportunities for students to be involved in an extensive range of activities, from academic to leadership and for representing the College in the wider community. These allow our students to build confidence, as they all can find a place to shine, which translates into their approach to academic studies.

We have programs covering social justice, community awareness, Australian and Jewish heritage, inter-faith, inter-generation, music, sport and an extensive range of co-curricular opportunities.

Outstanding academic staff throughout the College ensures a high teaching standard. The majority of our Senior School staff work in senior HSC positions with the Board of Studies and many represent us on educational committees.

Our individual attention and follow-up on each student is top of our priorities. We care for each individual and work in partnership with parents to ensure we are supporting students at either end of the learning spectrum.

Pioneering programs like Reading Plus take students to unprecedented levels of reading comprehension.

“We are once again absolutely delighted by our HSC results. Our Year 12 cohort have reached their potential and in many cases moved beyond expectations. The fact that we are a non-selective school and get over 80% of our students with UAIs above 80 reflects the standard of a Masada education. We have so many reasons to feel extremely proud.” Mrs Wendy Barel, College Principal.
